Ren Erwei, a doctor with a deep passion for China, left Sichuan for France in 1925. After returning to his homeland, he drew upon his experiences working and living in China to publish five books about the country: *Flowers of Emotion*, *The Shadow of the Devil Horse*, *The Divine Healer in China*, *The Chinese Divine Healer Amidst Rebellion*, and *A Doctor in China*. Ren Erwei dedicated himself tirelessly to promoting Chinese culture, earning him the well-deserved title of an ambassador for cultural exchange between the Chinese and French peoples. In November 2015, Aurore Staiger, a freelance writer from France, visited the hospital to trace her great-grandfather Albert Ren Erwei’s footsteps at Saint-Xu Hospital.
