Affiliated Chuzhou Hospital Deepens Collaboration and Exchange with Anhui Provincial Children's Hospital

On the morning of April 12, Chen Chao, President of Fudan Children's Hospital Anhui (Anhui Provincial Children's Hospital), and his delegation visited our university-affiliated Chuzhou Hospital to conduct a research visit aimed at advancing and deepening collaboration between the two institutions. Liu Jiazhen, Secretary of the hospital’s Party Committee, Zhu Zechang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the hospital, and Xin Ling, a member of the hospital’s Party Committee, attended the symposium and exchange meeting.

During the symposium, Liu Jiazhen introduced Chuzhou City's rich cultural heritage and history, as well as an overview of the affiliated Chuzhou Hospital. She highlighted the recent advancements of the hospital's Children's Hospital over the past few years. Since its establishment in 2014, the Children's Hospital has steadily grown from a pediatric department into a fully-fledged pediatric campus. Notably, after collaborating with the Provincial Children's Hospital in general surgery and urology last year, the partnership has already yielded remarkable results. Liu expressed her hope that the Provincial Children's Hospital will continue to provide comprehensive guidance and support in areas such as discipline development, academic research, and administrative management, helping the hospital further enhance its pediatric diagnostic and treatment capabilities, as well as its teaching and research standards. At the same time, she emphasized the desire to jointly establish a provincial-level regional children's medical center and create a two-way referral system, encouraging patients to seek care within the province.

Chen Chao highlighted the background, significance, and latest progress of the construction of the "National Children's Regional Medical Center." He noted that the "Anhui National Children's Regional Medical Center" is among the first batch of national regional medical centers approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Health Commission. Once completed and operational, it will further boost the overall pediatric healthcare standards across the province. Chen expressed his hope that the two institutions would build on their existing collaboration by enhancing communication, expanding areas of cooperation, and deepening their joint efforts to achieve even greater success. Meanwhile, the Provincial Children's Hospital will continue to strengthen its support for the affiliated Chuzhou Children's Hospital, helping to elevate the hospital's pediatric diagnostic and treatment capabilities and ultimately benefiting children in Chuzhou City.

Relevant staff from the Social Work Department of Children's Hospital Affiliated with Fudan University, accompanied by a video presentation, introduced the implementation and operational model of the "Dream Medical School" initiative. Both sides then engaged in an exchange and discussion regarding various issues related to the project.

Before the symposium, Chen Chao and his delegation also conducted on-site visits to inspect areas such as the pediatric health and rehabilitation ward, the pediatric surgery ward at the Children's Branch of the Affiliated Chuzhou Hospital, as well as the proposed site for the "Dream Medical College."
