Department Overview

The Department of Nephrology was initially established in 1980, officially founded in 1983, and formally established as a full-fledged department in 1986. Over the past 43 years, thanks to the dedicated efforts of successive department heads—Professors Xu Guozhang, Yu Tinglong, Liu Xianrong, Tao Ye, and all their colleagues—the department has grown into a robust academic and clinical team. Guided by seasoned senior experts, it is now led academically by Professors Huang Songmin and Fu Ping, both former national executive committee members of the Chinese Society of Nephrology. The leadership team includes Director Fu Ping, Secretary and Deputy Director Hu Zhangxue, Deputy Director for Research Liu Fang, Deputy Director for Teaching Su Baihai, and Discipline Director Tao Ye. Meanwhile, the nursing management team comprises skilled professionals such as Diao Yongshu, Chen Lin, Ma Dengyan, Wen Yi, Chen Chongcheng, Chen Zhiwen, Yuan Huaihong, and Zhang Yingjun. At its core are mid-career and young academic leaders who form the department’s dynamic, well-structured, and sustainably evolving academic and medical team, working collaboratively toward shared goals.
